Digitally created, The Fog only exists virtually – a phantom version of something already highly transient in its original form. The song by English folk rock band, Lindisfarne, The Fog on the Tyne, is full of nostalgic and romantic sentiment for the past, for a time when our view – literally and metaphorically – of that river was very different to today.
