Call Centre Blues

Newcastle has one of Europe’s highest concentration of call centres – their proliferation a sign of new industries replacing old (heavy) ones. The North East has one of the nation’s favourite regional accents coupled with a readily available workforce. This exhibition is a selection of doodles on scrap paper executed between conversations with the public at one such call centre. Their contents range from happy to sad and everything in between, reflecting the moods and emotions created by such working environments.
